When I got pregnant with my second child, I was still deeply grieving my mom who had died less than a year before. I felt like it was important for me to set up the support that I needed to bring this child into the world. Working with Anjali to have a homebirth was an essential part of that foundation. I felt really supported as we met and planned our birth experience together. I loved having my three-year-old present for the appointments playing with the birth models and sometimes crawling up on top of me to help listen to the baby. I really think these moments started building the close bond my children share.

Anjali showed me so much care in the weeks leading up to the birth -- especially because my body was clearly telling me that the baby wanted to come early and fast. After the baby was born she continued to show care, even coming with us to the hospital to get a check up for a minor issue with the baby, where she advocated for us and helped us navigate the system. Over the next few weeks, having Anjali come to my home to check-up on the baby made me feel safe and cared for in a way that I had not experienced with my first child.

I chose to give birth at home because I wanted to feel truly connected to my body and my baby, without the rushed or clinical feeling. After trauma during my first birth, I knew I needed someone who could support me emotionally as much as physically. When I met Anjali, I immediately felt seen, heard, and safe.

The birth of my daughter was peaceful and powerful in a way I will never forget. There was no pressure, no urgency, just a calm, grounded presence that filled the room. Anjali supported me with so much intention and care, stepping in with quiet confidence and gentle guidance exactly when necessary. Having her by my side throughout my pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey was deeply healing in a way I didn't know I needed. I will always be grateful for her and the way she helped me reclaim my birth experience and rebuild trust in my own body.

“What a gift to have found Anjali for the birth of my first child. I was so grateful to have her by my side during my transition to mamahood. Beyond being an experienced and skilled midwife, Anjali is patient, attentive, responsive, and extremely knowledgeable about lactation.

During prenatal visits she provided me with resources and information that empowered me to make informed decisions about my child’s birth and I never felt like I was being rushed out of appointments. When I started going into labor unexpectedly and had to pivot to a hospital birth, Anjali was there every step of the way to make sure I could advocate for the natural birth I wanted even in a hospital setting. And she supported me with such confidence that I never felt fearful or worried during those first moments when I realized I was going into early labor.

During postpartum, Anjali really shined.. she provided the warmest, most personalized care I have ever received, checking in with us frequently and providing us with the tools and resources we needed to ensure that I could successfully breastfeed my baby. Every birthing parent deserves to bring their child into the world surrounded by a supportive and loving team that trusts in our innate and intuitive ability to birth. Anjali sets an example for what a transformative, non-transactional experience of childbirth can and should be.”

“Having Anjali as a midwife was such a blessing for me. Leading up to the birth I found my prenatal appointments to be moments where we dropped in and checked on not just baby but my heart, body, and spirit as well. I fully trusted Anjali’s experience and breadth of knowledge. Anytime issues came up for me during the pregnancy - Anjali collaborated with me - sharing knowledge and experience while also integrating and calling on my intuition and encouraging me to trust my body.

Birthing at home was the most powerful and profound ceremony for me. I was able to sing and pray and give myself a limpia in the comfort of my own home. I felt fully prepared and held by my birth team and that really helped me to surrender to the process. After I gave birth I was feeling the aftershocks of contractions and my body was feeling tender as I needed some stitches. Anjali felt more like a family member who was meticulous in her care of me as she tenderly cared for me vulnerable post-partum moments. We love Anjali! “

"A midwife for midwives"

-AL (midwife)

“ I chose homebirth because home was the place I felt safest to undertake something as vulnerable and monumental as labor. I was also hoping to avoid the unnecessary medical interventions that can sometimes happen in a hospital.

In planning for a birth at home, especially since it was my first baby, I knew that I had to have a very strong support system to be able to keep me safe, guide me when needed, and hold the space -- as my midwife, Anjali was at the helm of that support. My experience of Anjali was that she is a midwife of the highest integrity, exercising not only tremendous clinical skill and judgment but also attending to me fully and unhurriedly as an individual, helping me to make decisions based truly on my needs.

When I came to a moment in my labor when I wasn't sure I could keep going, I was so grateful to have built a support system that was stronger than my doubt. I'm certain that Anjali's adept and loving care is part of the reason I had a successful homebirth. I wouldn't change a thing!"
